Jenny Lee Lindberg aka jennylee is the Warpaint's bass guitarist who also sings the backing vocals, assumption maybe influences her to take this step releasing her debut single, 'Never', which will be followed for her debut album "right on!" on December 11 via Rough Trade Records featuring among others, Warpaint drummer Stella Mozgawa.

Her debut single approaches the summer time due to the guitar riffs inspired by surf, sun and the beach, being these ones, on the one hand, dreamer, and on the other, melancholy and dramatic. And this occur while Joy Division's post punk takes positions to withdraw themselves across the length and the breadth of the song, showing herself sensual at the microphone with a Warpaint moment when she sings to the sky against the skittering drums.

The Gloomies - LSD 7"

The singer-songwriter Andrew Craig together with the drummer Chris Trombley as well as the guitarists Blake Martz and Grant Martz, formed The Gloomies, and based in California, taking shape three songs that conform their first 7", called "LSD".

The eponymous song opens the can hitting your mind through DIIV or all your summer memories you experienced a couple months ago, which it means for Andrew to leave behind New York and move to California, printing a Kill Bill warm version doing this movement worst that looks like. At the end the last Tame Impala comes to my mind with the second part of 'Groves', because the first one is reserved for the poppy version of the first The Weeknd and their R'n'B before the song is wrapped for the "Currents" magic of the Australian band.

BLACK ABBA

4-piece supergroup, three female and one male, featuring members of Trampoline Team, Buck Biloxi & The Fucks, Gary Wrong Group and the Pelican Pow Wow Records top dog with a name formed by their major influences, Black Sabbath and ABBA (believe or not, it will be your fault).

'Man In A Van' is their first single and automatically, after pressing play, you are wrapped by the same NOTS instrumentation, spatial synth and shouting female vocals which are also inside 'Sorry', but here they show themselves crazier, vocals are out of step and hallucinogenic, transporting us to an spatial fair where everything turns around our heads. Both of them are included in their debut EP, via Holotrash Records and condensed in a five song cassette.

Las Tetas

From Auckland, Las Tetas, meaning tits, are a trio comprising of Lucy Stewart, Charlotte Gallichan-Stewart and Kristal G, so now it's clear why this name, right? 

Two years ago, they published their first 7" via 1:12 Records under the name "You're Not Invited", where they put their evil punk. Since then, their riot grrrl attitude join them in each song, go mad themselves and the audience who accept the challenge to hear them. Along the eight songs they have uploaded in their Soundcloud account, 'The Plains' makes the pop respite, sounding like authentic angels who haven't broken a plate in their lives. 'Lullaby' represents in this case their instrumental stone garage face.

Sykoya

Anna Marcella (lead vocals & keys), Alejandro Bonatto (synth), Eduardo Leal (bass & backing vocals) and Curtis ElVidge (electronic and acoustic drums) shape the line-up of the electronic-dreampop newcomers band, Sykoya.

It doesn't take long before one realizes that 'Closer', their debut single, has elements in common with the last Warpaint sounds, but in this case without guitars. The  two types of drums and synth introduce the sweet voice of Anna, and it's not until Eduardo joins the track with his voice and bass, when he opens the door to all members to create the spatial climate reinforced thanks to the reverberation. The nice end is Anna in all her glory playing and singing and away from everything.

Bruising

Bruising was born from the singer and guitarist Naomi Baguley's love for the Perfect Pussy's shirt of Ben Lewis one night in Leeds. Then they started to message to each other until the day they joined forces in the same room, where emerged three singles that had immediately the support of Beech Coma and Art Is Hard Records, being included 'Can't You Feel', their first single, in the "Beech ComaVolume 3" and 'Think About Death' in the "Family Portrait pt. II" of the second record label aforementioned.

Both songs are pure Menace Beach fuzz bathed in a pop vocals which look like not to cower itself because of the noise they have behind. Naomi's voice is soft, sensitive, made of glass but not close to collapse.

Pinemen

PNKSLM Recordings last band, Pinemen, sounds different than the other roster bands and this is because there is no trace about the dirt of Lucern Raze or The Castillians, also neither the lo-fi of The Foetals, to name a few examples. 

Since 'Essence Of Easy Going' starts you know you're listening special also listened in the last weeks, but it's not clear until the psychedelic style cover their sound, and there it is, Tame Impala, and to be exact, sounding as "Currents", the last album of the Australian guys.

WOMPS - Live A Little Less / Dreams On Demand 7"

A month ago I discovered WOMPS and since then, I fell in love with their crazy garage rock with a pinch of grunge. Owen and Ewan return to the fray releasing their debut AA side 7" via Damnably Records, which was produced by Steve Albini.

Besides meet 'Live A Little Less', where they mention the Speedy Ortiz style together with FIDLAR and the first Yuck, with a lo-fi acute despair to the microphone with a pop sensibility to receive 'Dreams On Demand', which keeps the spirit of Cloud Nothings, but in a way more danceable than its parent, which is encouraging itself, insomuch they reach a punk sound with which it's easy to lose the head.

Fuzz Ghost - Fuzz Ghost EP

Griffin Washburn's project Fuzz Ghost accompanied by Mills Brown, Eli Perron and Luke Fedorko released a few days ago their eponymous debut EP. Based in Nashville, mostly known for country bands, these guys are proving a new wave is coming to the city, and this is not because Third Man Records has influenced them, nothing further away from reality.

The voice with an empty energy which starts 'Sandy Burn' is replaced quickly for a surf and garage ballad,  sounding as a slow motion version of Fidlar. Lo-fi instrumentation makes way to the heartbreaking lo-fi vocals on 'Lost Mind', which also is looking at the sky to sound harder than it has, thanks to the southern surf rock with a garage touch that they perform.

Sudakistan

Based on Stockholm and their members coming part from Thee Oh Sees and part from Death From Above 1979, it's a must hear 'Mundo Mamon', the last single released before PNKSLM Recordings publish their debut album "Caballo Negro" on October 30th. After singing in Spanish, they change it to English, but continuing as before, with their psychedelic style infected with tropical sounds.

Together with it, 'El Movimiento' and 'Rabia' develop one garage rock that keeps behind an animal party on the stage thanks to the anger of Ty Segall. Time to dance, to clear the head, to be absorbed for their sounds and to be a little bad.

Grubs

When you hear Roxy Brennan is singing alone at the beginning of 'Windwaker', you know immediately that you hear before this voice. After checked internet, the information is clear, she has the same role in Joanna Gruesome's band. After Alanna McArdle left recently the named band due to mental health problems, she has been replaced by Kate Stonestreet and Roxy. Nonetheless she has decide continue with her principal music project until now, Grubs, sharing studio and stage with Owen Williams (also of Joanna Gruesome) and Jake May (DIY Magazine).

Mieke - Mieke EP

Elissa Mieke debut EP is a rethinking exercise of a lot of moments of her life, being raw to share this with all of us, as GEoRGiA did with her debut LP last week, but sounding with the sweetness of BANKS above the piano and the choir as the waxy flowers of a 'Magnolia'. It may notice she feels insecure, wanting to scream and find herself... all of them due to her bad situations with producers and major labels where creativity was absent, losing her authenticity, so she appealed to Don Kerr and Howie Beck (Feist) to record these songs.

Her discomfort leaves aside the precedent R&B to hug a comercial pop whose lyrics correspond to the love when it disappears and everything she wants to do is 'Move On', because her love was a 'Vulture' who profited her youth, hard times coated with her first R&B including a violin and keyboard to stand out all the fucking shit what involved her.

BIRDSKULLS

Nowadays, Kurt Cobain is on everyone's lips, consequently Nirvana and the grunge music. BIRDSKULLS love them, and maybe for this reason they are also three. What is clear is that their music has a lot of features from the Aberdeem's band since 2 years, time they uploaded the first version of 'Ghost World', which will  be included in their debut album "Trickle", out 5th October via Dog Knights Productions, but with a new facelift, it means, without the lo-fi bedroom sound, as the other songs they recorded during this time.

Nowadays, the last song named together with 'Sever' shows a pure grunge sound, with heavier instrumentation and less desperate off-key vocals, reaching the depressing situations, accord with their lyrics. But Jack, Rory and Sam go one step further sounding like Nai Harvest with the Joanna Gruesome powerful in 'Good Enough', the first single brought to light together with the amazing cover of the album.

SUN CLUB

Calling a band SUN CLUB, you make clear your musical preferences and yes, it is like this. 'Tropicoller Lease', the new single of these 5 guys from Baltimore, sounds with a tropical pop accent together with a punk vocals, to send anyone to the dance floor, gathering together Animal Collective and Two Door Cinema Club in the same place.

Formed in 2012, they didn't release anything until last year, when their debut EP, "Dad Claps At The Mom Prom", saw the white light after the tunnel, getting good opinions, which strengthened the idea of recording a whole album, releasing "The Dongo Durango", that is called, via ATO Recordings / PIAS on 30 October.

Nano Kino - Never Seemed To Be Happen 7"

Nano Kino are Sarah Suri and Duncan Lloyd (Maximo Park / Decade In Exile), with Andy Martin (bass) and Tom English (drums) who recently joined the band for their debut 7".

'Never Seemed To Happen' represents the happiness to be Nano Kino, without forgetting the frustration for not knowing where exactly oneself is when the things don't become real, and this is the moment when Duncan gives her voice some riffs to show her he is supporting her feelings in this experimental-pop debut single.

ISLAND

Soft lightness of the initial guitar riffs to extend the echoes of the summer throughout 'Stargazer', the debut single from the London based band and also included in their forthcoming debut EP, "Girl", which will be out on November 27 via Beatnik Creative.

This peace associates with the lovely vocals of Rollo Doherty (also guitar) is broken slightly with the entry into pop scene thanks to the appearance of James Wolfe (bass), Jack Raeder (guitar) and Toby Richards (drums). As the song progresses,tone of voice and lyrics begin to be rougher, taking out the rage that Rollo has kept inside.

WOMPS

Once upon a time a Glaswegian band called Algernon Doll recorded records and played shows from 2010 to 2015. From it ashes WOMPS was born and as the dead band, Ewan Grant (guitars/vocals) and Owen Wicksted (drums) are playing together in a more powerful direction, as reflects 'Live A Little Less', their first official single after it publication as acoustic version, together with 'Downstairs' and 'Ritalin', their other two songs published in their bandcamp account. This single will be published as a double A-side 7", together with 'Dreams On Demand' in Damnably Records on September 18 and produced by Steve Albini.
