TIGERCUB - Destroy/You 7"

TIGERCUB are a trio from Brighton who look like from Seattle, birthplace of grunge, style they offer since the publication of 'Blue Blood' and 'Centrefold', their first two singles...being this last one released via Blood Red Shoes' label Jazz Life.

Now, thanks to Too Pure Singles Club and Cannibal Hymns, they will release their first 7", made up of 'Destroy' and 'You', the first one with a wall of metal sound wrapping the pure grunge founded in both of them, which is coming out of Jamie Hall's microphone bringing to mind Kurt Cobain...and thus Nirvana.

Hall also is responsible for playing the guitar while James Alexander is playing drums and James Wheelwright bass. Also 'Destroy' reminds of Royal Blood, but with a less powerful than their city colleagues. Its raw sound is combined with this mental dysfunction which forces their minds to the chaos, where everything is wrong and don't invite to remember 'You', this special person who had meant happiness and without that person...there is nothing more.

Kagoule - Urth

Nine months later after Cai Burns, Lucy Hatter and Lawrence English published 'Gosh' in their soundcloud account, they release their debut album "Urth", via Earache Recordings. This lead single is also the opening song of the album, carrying themselves to the shovel inside 'Smells Like Teen Spirit', taking also all the grunge style which involved Nirvana, while avoiding both anguish and the instrumental degradation. Cai melancholic voice is supported by Lucy to seek balance between between the insanity of their music with their eloquent lyrical, a way to respond to 'Adjust The Way'.

Forgetting the previous songs, 'Glue' is a dark alt-rock with a deliberate pose on vocals, done pop, as in 'Damp Sand' but this time, the voices of the couple are faltering with a psychedelic s aesthetic, coming closer to chaos and positions with Ariel Pink.

Infinity Girl - Harm

Nolan, Kyle, Mitchell and Sebastian are Infinity Girl, band based in Brooklyn, NY, after they have been part of the Boston underground scene, filling their life with a different musical lessons until today, the day when Topshelf Records releases "Harm".

The opening flutes from 'Hesse' disappear quickly to make way for an intense a noisy shoegaze, gradually losing its identity to the detriment of Speedy Ortiz and a poppy grunge, reaching madness through the 'Where Is My Mind' Pixies guitars, also founded in 'Firehead', sounding with a space psychedelic accent which highlight the depressive lyrics tone from Yuck.

BIRDSKULLS

Nowadays, Kurt Cobain is on everyone's lips, consequently Nirvana and the grunge music. BIRDSKULLS love them, and maybe for this reason they are also three. What is clear is that their music has a lot of features from the Aberdeem's band since 2 years, time they uploaded the first version of 'Ghost World', which will  be included in their debut album "Trickle", out 5th October via Dog Knights Productions, but with a new facelift, it means, without the lo-fi bedroom sound, as the other songs they recorded during this time.

Nowadays, the last song named together with 'Sever' shows a pure grunge sound, with heavier instrumentation and less desperate off-key vocals, reaching the depressing situations, accord with their lyrics. But Jack, Rory and Sam go one step further sounding like Nai Harvest with the Joanna Gruesome powerful in 'Good Enough', the first single brought to light together with the amazing cover of the album.
